The Healthy Relationships team recently had the opportunity to attend the 2026 PDE Conference, hosted by the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN). The conference brings together educators, administrators, and service providers who are focused on supporting students with meaningful instruction that builds independence, confidence, and real life skills.
Representing Healthy Relationships at the vendor booth were Jen Falkowski and Rob Anderson, who spent time connecting with educators from across the region and beyond.
Meaningful Conversations With Educators
The vendor hall created a wonderful space to meet professionals who are passionate about helping their students thrive.
Throughout the conference, educators stopped by the booth to:
-
Learn more about the Healthy Relationships program
-
Explore sample lessons and instructional materials
-
Discuss how topics like social skills, hygiene, and digital safety are taught in their classrooms
-
Share how they are supporting students as they prepare for greater independence
One of the most meaningful moments of the conference was hearing from current program users who stopped by simply to say hello. Many shared stories about how their students have responded to the lessons and the difference it has made in their classrooms.
These moments are always powerful reminders that the work happening inside classrooms every day truly matters.
Supporting Students Through Practical Life Skills
Healthy Relationships provides educators with tools to teach topics that are often essential, yet difficult to address in traditional instruction.
The program helps educators guide students through conversations and learning around:
-
Social skills and interpersonal communication
-
Personal health and hygiene
-
Building respectful relationships
-
Responsible digital communication and social media use
-
Personal safety and boundaries
By presenting these topics in an accessible and supportive format, educators can help students build the confidence and knowledge needed for real world success.
Connecting With Schools Nationwide
While the PDE Conference is a Pennsylvania based event, the conversations we had reflect a much broader community of educators. Schools and programs across the country are working toward the same goal: helping students develop the social awareness, independence, and personal responsibility needed to navigate everyday life.
Events like this provide a valuable opportunity to listen, learn, and continue strengthening the resources that support educators and their students.
Thank You for Stopping By
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took a few moments to stop by the Healthy Relationships booth during the conference. Whether you were discovering the program for the first time or sharing your classroom experiences, the conversations made the event truly meaningful.
